Essence of the Gita

➥ Why do you worry unnecessarily? Whom do you fear? Who can kill you? The soul is neither born nor does it die.
➥ Whatever happened, happened for the good; whatever is happening, is happening for the good; whatever will happen, will also happen for the good. Do not regret the past. Do not worry about the future. The present is happening.
➥ What have you lost that makes you cry? What did you bring that you have lost? What did you create that has been destroyed? You brought nothing with you, whatever you have, you received here. Whatever you gave, you gave it here. What is yours today, belonged to someone else yesterday, and will belong to someone else tomorrow. You are joyfully attached to it thinking it is yours. This very happiness is the cause of your sorrow.
➥ Change is the law of the universe. What you consider as death is actually life. In one moment, you may become the owner of millions, and in the next, you may be penniless. Erase from your mind the ideas of mine-yours, small-big, ours-theirs. Then everything is yours, and you belong to everyone.
➥ This body is not yours, and you are not of the body. It is made of fire, water, air, earth, and sky — and will merge back into them. But the soul is eternal and indestructible. So then, who are you?
➥ Offer yourself completely to God. This is the best support. One who knows this becomes free from fear, worry, and grief forever.
➥ Whatever you do, dedicate it to God. By doing so, you will always experience the bliss of liberation while living.

My Thoughts

➥ The 'Bhagavad Gita' is one of the greatest scriptures in the world. It cannot be confined to the boundaries of Hinduism, as it has been translated into many major languages around the world, and billions of people follow the life philosophy mentioned in it and live happily.
➥ 'Gita' is a scripture filled with unique mysteries. The more times you read it, the more new meanings, emotions, and arguments you will find emerging each time.
➥ Truly, this scripture is like an ‘ocean in a pot’ (vast knowledge in a small space), which calms a person’s endless desires, attachments, and anxieties in an instant.
➥ This scripture, born from the dialogue between Lord Krishna and Arjuna, has been guiding saints and sages since the Dwapar Yuga. Many ordinary people have become great by following its teachings. From Meera, Surdas, and Chaitanya to Mahatma Gandhi — all have drawn strength from the Bhagavad Gita. In the words of Mahatma Gandhi: “When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and when I see not one ray of hope, I turn to the Gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow.” Those who read the Gita daily stay refreshed and discover new meanings in it every day.
➥ The greatest teaching of the 'Gita' is — a human should perform all necessary actions without attachment, without desiring the fruits of those actions. God is not pleased by torturing the body or self-inflicted suffering; He is pleased by one who performs duties with a detached spirit while always remembering God.
➥ In this way, the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is a treasure of knowledge for all mankind. By reading, understanding, and following it, a person can free themselves from the cycle of life and death and attain liberation — this is the divine proclamation of Lord Shri Krishna Himself.
